Off-Road Motorcyclist Crashes In Woods, Breaks Leg In Ocean County

A man was airlifted to a hospital after his off-road motorcycle crashed in the woods in Ocean County, authorities said.

Barnegat police responded to a wooded area between Warren Grove Road and Route 72 at around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, the department said in a Facebook post.

Investigators said a 52-year-old man hit an exposed root and was thrown from the motorcycle. He was rushed by helicopter to Jersey Shore University Medical Center.

The motorcyclist suffered a broken femur and was listed in stable condition at the Neptune hospital.
